Summer at Merriweather Post Pavilion

Merriweather Post Pavilion is an outdoor concert venue located within Symphony Woods, a 40-acre lot of preserved land in the heart of the planned community of Columbia, Maryland. In 2010, Merriweather was named the second best amphitheater in the United States by Billboard magazine. The venue was also ranked as the fourth best amphitheater in the United States by Rolling Stone in 2013.

We were copied on this amazing letter sent to Howard County Executive Ken Ulman thanking him for recognizing our dedication and economic impact the Peralynna has on Howard County. 

Mr. Ulman ,

 

As a recent visitor to your part of the country, my wife and I had the opportunity to stay at the Columbia Inn at Peralynna.  My wife recently had surgery and it was our first excursion out.  We completely enjoyed our time at the Inn, area restaurants, shopping, and sights.  While I don't often write e-mails, when there was word that the Inn might be jeopardized, I felt a need to let someone know from outside the area how valuable having a bed and breakfast locally is to the local economy.  Given the credit card statements after we returned home, I believe we enhanced the economy quite well during our stay.  I'm glad to see a government official as yourself be able to see beyond what's on paper and what a true community value you have. 

 

We will be staying again in the future and may actually relocate my medical practice to your area based on how much we enjoyed the area.  We never would have even known the area without the draw to the Inn.

Wool and Sheep Festival

The largest sheep & wool show in the U.S. Shearing, spinning, weaving, working sheep dogs, gourmet lamb, sheep & goat breed shows & more. Free admission & parking at The Howard County Fairgrounds. The Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival is sponsored by the Maryland Sheep Breeders Association, Inc. The Festival’s purpose is to educate the public about sheep and wool. The Festival is organized and conducted by volunteers from the sheep breeding and fiber arts communities.
